Baby Nurse Kate's birthday

Holy macaroni.  It's been THREE months since I last posted here?  Ridiculous.  And now Blogger has gone all new on how I post things.  Yeesh.  Let's try this one.  Baby Kate, who is now officially Nurse Kate, and has accepted a job at Texas Children's Hospital, turned 24 at the beginning of June.  This is her cake.  Lemon cake, lime frosting and pink gumpaste fantasy flowers.  I am practicing for Emily's wedding cake in October.  Let's see if I can figure out how to post this!

A chocolate extravaganza for a friend's birthday.  The fondant covered rice krispie treat M&M
sits in her hot tub of M&M bubbles.  All of this sits atop a 2-layer 6" chocolate cake,
iced and filled with chocolate ganache and surrounded by chocolate bars.
Served with chocolate margaritas.  Oh my.

Mexican Fiesta

For a "Tequila & Tacos" birthday party. 

The invitation had simple multi-colored stripes around the edges so we went with that theme
on the simple-but delicious birthday cake. 

Cookies for a Cousin

Getting a bit of a jump on Easter. The bottoms of these egg-shaped cookies are dipped in melted chocolate. Royal icing and sprinkles complete the decor.

Yo Gabba Gabba!

I didn't even know what that meant before our granddaughter was born! Cupcakes for a boy turning three. Hope he and his friends love them!

A simple little Princess cake with lots of buttercream, topped with a fondant bow and some glitter sugar. For an adorable, romantic couple whose wedding cakes I crafted a few years ago. They were taking their wedding party to lunch to celebrate their anniversary of becoming "engaged."
