Champagne Celebration

The theme for the birthday party was "Pop" the champagne. The cake balls don't look so good in this picture (my photographic skills are less than stellar), but they were darling. White chocolate covered, dipped in sugary sprinkles and sparkly flakes. The wine bucket was the cake itself -- 3 layers of white cake slathered in buttercream and dusted with silvery luster dust. The champagne bottle itself is solid chocolate. (I KNOW, right??!!??) I'm just hoping the party goers are cracking into that chocolate champagne bottle and eating every last ounce of it as we speak. Not to mention enjoying the cake and champagne-bubble-esque cake balls. Happy Birthday!

Fore!

Posted by PicasaFor a darling boy turning six who has finally moved on from Star Wars cakes to Golf cakes. The cake is buttercream and fondant covered chocolate, the cupcakes are white cake with green buttercream, topped with fondant golf balls. You might be able to see a few fondant golf tees and balls at the back of the cake board. This one was SO much fun.

Barnyard Animals

For a baby boy turning 1. Animals designed from the birthday party invitation. Smash cake for the birthday boy plain and simple. Although I did add a bit of extra decor after I took this picture. Cute stuff.

Cookies for Nurses

Youngest daughter finishes up her Clinicals for this semester today. These are thank-you cookies for all the nurses at the hospital who helped her learn. HBU's mascot is a Huskie, their colors are orange and blue, so those are orange dog paws, complete with toenails. The nurses' caps look quite Florence Nightengale-ish, but hey ... she was my childhood hero, that Florence.

Simple Princess Cake

For a lovely lady turning "a certain age." Italian Cream Cake with buttercream icing, her favorite color is coral, and the tiara is hand crafted from royal icing and painted with silver luster dust. I tried to keep it simple for a change ;-)

First Birthday

The birthday boy's party invitations were all blue and orange and white stripes. Mom was giving star-shaped cookies as party favors. Thus, this cake. Bottom layer is white cake, top layer is carrot cake. Yummy!

21st birthday

I love these gals who order their own 21st birthday cakes. This one was in shades of pink, with silver dragees and pink cakeballs to go on the side. You can still see the tiny balls of saran wrap holding up the loops of the icing bow on the top of the cake. (It was a humid day here.)
