You knew it had to happen ...

A leopard print purse with matching shoe. Woo hoo!!!!

Five little ducks ...

... swimming in a pond ... with their Mama.

For a sweet little girl whose favorite book is about those five little ducks ....

Son-in-law

Much like the cobbler's children, Nelson didn't get much of a decorated cake for his birthday as I was busy with other orders. But I do believe he got one of the best tasting ones.

This is my new chocolate stout cake recipe, with my new peanut butter buttercream icing, and a fondant iPod on top.

We served it with Moose Tracks ice cream.

Word on the street is ... it tastes like a giant Reese's peanut butter cup CAKE. And it smells heavenly!

Twins' Tea Party Cakes

I SO love making these fun teapot cakes with teacups. It's really more hot-chocolate than tea, though, given the chocolate ganache icing on the teacups.

And the cake for the adults in attendance ...

Chocolate almond cake with buttercream icing. So the adults won't steal the little girls' cakes.

Muffaletta

I guess Muffaletta sandwiches are a Southern thing. Typically ham, salami, melty cheese and olive spread, all stacked on a bun. This is my sweeter version -- all made with cake, buttercream and fondant.

Turns out, a native Texan girl now living in the Midwest has been CRAVING these Muffaletta sandwiches ever since she moved. She's back in town this weekend to celebrate her birthday. Her sister thought a Muffalletta sandwich CAKE would be a great idea.

I have to agree. Way fun.

One Hundred and One

Yes, indeed. The lady just turned 101. And she loves butterflies. So here's her little cake to honor her giant big ol' amazing life!

This little guy is happily munching on his (fondant) bamboo leaves.

More Star Wars

This is for the turning-9-year-old who loaned me his R2D2 figurine for the cake I did back in November.

This time, his birthday cake is either a clone, or a storm trooper, or clone storm trooper, or something along those lines. He came over to make sure I had the right picture (once again, thank you, Google Images!) before I even started on the cake.

I hope he is sufficiently blown away by how awesome "I" think this cake is ;-)

Bratz

My first Bratz cake. Our girls are in their 20's, so I don't know from Bratz dolls. Thank goodness Google Images is my new BFF.

Denmark

For a lovely woman who recently married a Dane, and will be moving to Denmark in the next few months. I'm hoping that actually SAYS "happy birthday" in Danish. (My online translator tells me so.) And that her husband won't be offended by Dutch tulips on her Danish birthday cake. ;-))

Our Annie turns 3

Well, she's not really "ours," but we claim her anyway. She and her parents recently moved to the city north of us that shall not be named, and we miss her dearly. She wanted a 'bernilla' Elmo cake this year for her birthday. Since it had to go on the plane with her daddy (in overhead baggage), it had to be smaller and less elaborate than years past. A simple 8" square 2-layer cake ... with enough red dye in Elmo's body to keep dozens of preschoolers wired up for hours! Festive randomly-placed polka dots adorn the sides of the cake. Happy Birthday, Annie!

A pretty little cake

for a Momma turning 75. This is a new chocolate cake recipe I'm testing ... it includes a bottle of Stout (beer), a pound of butter, and 1-1/2 cups of cocoa. How could it possibly taste bad???

Muppet Babies

For a baby boy shower. Cake decor is based on the shower invitations/partyware. Muppet Babies on top are candles provided by the hostess. I didn't think my skills were quite up to making a bunch of little fondant Muppet Babies. Chocolate cake, buttercream icing and fondant, trimmed out in royal icing.

Welcome Baby Girl

For daughter's boss. They're expecting a baby girl any minute now ...

I LOVE making those little sleeping babies!
